Identify and evaluate the suitability of existing properties—and assess the development potential for affordable housing and other community assets in vacant or underutilized land or buildings.
Lead or support the conceptual planning and financial feasibility analysis for affordable housing and community development projects. This often includes: developing a narrative architectural program and scope of work; leading zoning entitlement and community engagement efforts; coordinating with designers and contractors; and engaging development partners, where appropriate.Â
Identify the most impactful sources of funding and coordinate and submit funding applications. This includes public and private grant funding, applications for other subsides (e.g., tax abatements, rental assistance contracts, etc.), as well as construction and permanent debt products.Â
Shepherd a funded project through the construction or renovation phase, ensuring a successful completion. This often includes coordinating with the long-term owner (and third-party property management provider, where needed) to develop a marketing/leasing strategy and an operations and maintenance plan.
